What Should eXpression! Mag's Slogan Be?

When you pick up a copy of eXpression! magazine, for the most part, readers seem to get what we are trying to do (create) in Hawaii's gay and lesbian community. Our purpose is to create awareness and excitement within the LGBT community. We do this by sharing stories that resonate with you emotionally that's visually aspirational. I guess you could say, at eXpression! we are social agents that have adopted an internal mission to INSPIRE true AUTHENTICITY (without the need to assassin anyone of course).

What should our slogan be?
Currently our slogan is, "Inspiring Hawaii's LGBT community."

Alright, the statement above is true to what we have been doing for the past three years. Now let's come up with something short, sweet, memorable and clear (speaking to Hawaii's gay and lesbian community) and finally, has impact. Not asking for much are we?! So, we want you, the community involved.

Submit your feedback here

What will we do with your submission?

  • Publish the most memorable and creative submissions to print in the March 2012 issue FEEDBACK section;
  • Followed by an online vote in April's issue by the readers to select their favorite potential slogan;
  • Oh, and there will be prizes!

The one thing we know is that our LGBT community has got game when it comes to creativity. Let's hear it.

eXpression! Magazine Feb. 2012 Issue

Don’t you just admire the sound of sweet love in the air? What better story to feature on the cover of February’s issue than our very own Travis Knott, financial advisor (Ameriprise) and his partner of 18 years! What makes the story even sweeter? You guessed it, they will be tying the “knott” this month (yes, we spelled knot with two T’s – how coincident that Travis’ last name is Knott).

Travis Knott and DJ Dole certainly know a thing or two about gains. They both are experts in the financial industry and have insightful tips for us in the gay community who want to protect our loved ones. For all the Project Runway fans, boy do we have a nice surprise for you. Remember Hawaii’s lovable Andy South? The diva is out, check out Nong Phon a.k.a Andy South in TRANSFORM’s feature. See how Andy’s alter ego translates into what nature looks like through the eyes of a woman.

eXpression! Magazine January 2012 Issue

Do all good things go unnoticed? While some of us know that lately Governor Abercrombie hasn’t gain the most favorable media attention, we focused on possibly the best thing he’s done for the gay community.

It seems the LGBT community is looking forward to 2012. With civil unions on our minds, people are asking – “why not highlight a couple for January’s cover story?” While we understand this, February is Valentine’s and we felt it be more fitting to reserve romance. Governor Neil Abercrombie made a promised to sign civil unions into law and followed through when his predecessor left us on the brink of hope. Abercrombie shares with us his experience behind the scenes and his personal feelings towards the LGBT community.

eXpression! Magazine November 2011 Issue

Environmental Scientist, Lisa Baxter: She Digs It, Gets It, and Protects It

Just as I was going around telling my friends about my decision to become more earth friendly, I was introduced to a woman who literally owns the title when it comes to earth friendlessness! Meet Lisa Baxter, environmental scientist! If there ever was a cool job title, here it is, and the fact that it belongs to a woman makes it even better in my opinion. Baxter doesn’t just play in the boy’s playground, she is the ultimate queen of the land, she digs it, she gets it and she protects it. Cool enough for you?
